Chris Humphries and his family run a Community Interest Company (CIC) that organises training, matches and social events for all sorts of people who enjoy walking football, walking netball, and walking cricket. During the pandemic, the role of their walking sports clubs changed significantly to include mental health support for many of the members and he talks to us about the effect this had on him and the direction his life has taken.

At work, Chris leads a large team at a multinational technology organisation and is a trained Mental Health First Aider. He is passionate about great leadership and empowerment and encouragement of individuals and teams. He is generous with sharing his stories and those of others, and he highlights the following trailblazers in our conversation:

You can watch the Google advertising campaign with the FA and walking football on Youtube here.

You can read about Charlie Martin at gocharlie.co.uk.

And you can find a local walking football club at thewfa.co.uk.
